Quartz is a man-made engineered stone that is formed by combining about 90% ground quartz (a natural crystalline mineral of silicon dioxide) with 8-10% resins, polymers, and pigments. The combination of this process forms a very hard granite-like surface. The different patterns on the stone depend on how the quartz is ground: coarsely ground quartz produces a speckled appearance, while quartz that is finely ground produces more of a movement or smooth look. A big difference between engineered stone and natural stone is the maintenance and care of the stone. Unlike natural stone, quartz countertops are a non-porous material, meaning they do not need to be sealed, ever. Quartz is also resistant to staining or harboring any kinds of bacteria, making it a highly desirable stone.
Granite is a naturally occurring rock that is formed beneath the Earth’s curst over millions of years when magma or lava cools and then solidifies under intense, heavy pressure. This natural stone contains several minerals, which makes it a strong and dense material. The main components of the stone include mica, quartz, and feldspar (a mineral that is harder than steel). The different mixtures of minerals within the stone give it its distinctive appearances. Granite colors range from black, brown, gray, white to red, green, blue, yellow, and gold. Not only does Granite come in all sorts of beautiful colors, but it is also resistant to heat up to temperatures of 480°F. This natural stone will turn your kitchen into a showpiece that is a fun place for the entire family to gather!
Marble is a metamorphic rock that contains a high concentration of calcite or dolomite. This natural stone varies in the size of the grains and the amount of veining, so stone quarried from different parts of the world have a unique appearance. Fine-grained marble tends to be more consistent in color, while heavier grains produce more variation in color. While marble shares all the properties of other stone countertops, it has a unique color quality that shows a dramatic contract between the overall color and the veins of an alternate color. This exquisite material will make your dreams into a reality!
Quartzite is a naturally occurring metamorphic rock. Quartzite is created when sandstone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure caused by tectonic plate compression in the crust of the earth. This natural stone is generally found in white to grey with pink and red hues, which are a result of iron oxide in the stone. This beautiful stone can also be found with yellow, blue, green, and orange colors due to the presence of other natural minerals found within Earth. Quartzite is ideal for any countertop surface due to its strength, long-lasting composition, and its beautiful sparkling nature. This natural product offers an exquisite one-of-a-kind look to give your countertop a personal signature.
